Furqan-AsrarFurqan Asrar has lived in Saudi Arabia all his life. His family has given many years to KSA and contributed on many levels. Just like me, and thousands of other residents, we find ourselves wondering: What next?!

  1. How long have you been in KSA?
My father came here back in 1982. I was about a month old when I came.
  2. Where do you work?
I am currently working at Deloitte Middle East. They have a project with the Ministry of Health in Riyadh.
  3. How is your life in KSA?
Alhamdulillah, it has been great. Some ups and downs but that's what life is about. The most important thing is to have family close by, and in that respect it is awesome.
  4. Would you spend the rest of your life here?
Most definitely InshaAllah. If they allow us over here that is. We've lived here all our lives; fortunately or unfortunately we are more comfortable here than in our home country Pakistan.
  5. What makes KSA different from other countries?
First and foremost, the two holy cities, Makkah and Madinah. You can never get tired of these places. Secondly, the peace here.
  6. What do you think KSA will be like in five years?
There have been a lot of changes happening over here in a very short time. I wouldn't like to predict but I think KSA is gearing to become a lot more fun than it is right now.
  7. Do you have Saudi colleagues? Are you happy with them?
Quite a few, and yes I’m very happy with them.
  8. If you could change anything, what would it be?
It is very difficult to decide on one thing that I would change. I seem to have a complete list of things that can be done better. You never know, some of the changes might happen within the next five years.
  9. What is your advice to newcomers?
First and foremost, decide what your intention for coming over to Saudi is; if you have a clear intention then that will be the reason to be patient. Second, if you are deciding to come here, know how to relax. There are many things that take extra time over here. Third, make sure you choose the right company as your sponsor; jumping sponsors is quite a ride.
