Yumna M
I’m a student at the American University of Sharjah, currently residing in Dubai. I grew up in Saudi Arabia after having been born into the picturesque land of Serendib, now Sri Lanka. At university, I’m working on getting a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting, and intending to do a minor in Islamic Finance. When I’m not involved in my academics on campus, places you’re likely to find me at are the Masjid, or the library.
I have a love-hate relationship with contact lenses, Sudoku, and every kind of weather. In my free time, I’m most likely attempting to whip up a delightfully creative concoction with the intention of satisfying the gastronomical longings of my family, reading one Classic or the other, and trying to gain knowledge of my Deen, in my attempts to become a better Muslimah. I have a long way to go, and I know the roads will be rough and the seas choppy, but I also know that even a fraction of what Allah will have in store for me will be worth more than all of the effort I put in this world if I do indeed succeed in the next insha’Allah. And with that thought, I’ll keep trying.
